The Rules of Engagement

Let us get straight to the point. You are here to read about post production gear. We are here to give you the unvarnished truth about what works in a real editing bay. Legal requires us to spell out the rules of engagement for this website. Read them.

We test the equipment. We form our own opinions. We publish the results.

That is the core of our editorial model. We do not accept payment to publish positive reviews. We do not let brands dictate our testing methodology. If a highly anticipated color grading panel feels cheap under the fingers, we publish that fact. If a new audio interface introduces noticeable latency during a tracking session, we call it out.

How We Fund the Studio

Running a site dedicated to high end video, photo, and audio tools costs money. We fund Editing Gear Pro through affiliate commissions. When you click a link to a piece of hardware on our site and make a purchase, we earn a small percentage of that sale. The price you pay remains exactly the same.

This applies to retail links across the site. We participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and other affiliate networks. These programs provide a mechanism for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to specific products.

This revenue model does not buy our loyalty.

If we recommend a Thunderbolt RAID array, it is because we trust it to hold our own client footage. If a product fails our testing, we will tell you to avoid it. Earning a few dollars on a commission is never worth losing the trust of our readers.

Informational Purposes Only

We know post production workflows. We understand the friction of rendering heavy timelines on underpowered machines. We do not know your specific business structure, your client deliverables, or your tax situation. The content on Editing Gear Pro is strictly for informational purposes. It is not professional IT, financial, or legal advice.

Buying a five thousand dollar reference monitor will not automatically make you a better colorist. Upgrading your storage will not fix bad file management habits. Always consult with a certified professional before making massive capital expenditures for your studio.

You are solely responsible for how you apply the information found on this site.

The Reality of Tech Specs

Technology moves fast. Firmware updates drop. Software compatibility breaks. We verify our claims rigorously before hitting publish. We test the gear in real scenarios and check the official specifications.

A manufacturer can change a product specification the day after we post a review. A software patch can introduce new bugs to a previously stable audio mixer. We update our archives regularly to reflect these shifts. We cannot guarantee that every single spec listed on an older article remains perfectly accurate today.

Always verify technical requirements directly with the manufacturer before buying. Do your own final checks on compatibility.

External Links and Third Party Sites

We frequently link to external resources. You will find links to driver downloads, firmware patches, and manufacturer documentation. We do not own or control these third party websites.

If a manufacturer moves a support page or changes their privacy policy, we hold no liability for that change. We vet the links we include at the time of publication. We expect you to click external links with the same common sense you use when downloading unknown audio plugins.

If you find a broken link or a page that redirects to a dead domain, let us know through our contact page. We will fix it.
